In September 2019, we set out with a goal to share good food while making a meaningful difference in the lives of the historically marginalized here in Lexington.
Over that time, we enjoyed: Chinese hotpot, spicy South Indian curry, a traditional Kentucky Sunday supper, a spread of South Korean and Cyprian food, and an Argentinian la cena.
And though the covid-19 pandemic threw a wrench in our plans to host events over the past few months, it is my pleasure to announce that we were able to raise enough funds to distribute our first $1,200 to provide emergency relief funds to immigrant and refugee families in Lexington, by partnering with the Community Response Coalition of Kentucky.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll continue to work with CRCKY and provide any wrap around support they need to help even more residents out.
Many thanks go out to the 30+ members who have dined with us over the last few months and helped us get our work in the community kickstarted. We tarted small to build a little momentum, but be on the lookout for more events and even more impact in 2020.
